When it comes to entertaining yourself, your family or little ones, the North Coast is a haven. We’ve given you some information on some of our favourite things to do in the area. Why not try something new?

GOLF

We can easily say that Portrush is a golfers paradise! With golf courses that bring athletes an exceptional view of our coastline and courses trusted by the world’s greats, we’re truly packing a punch on the green.

The Royal Portrush was trusted in 2019 for the Open Championship and will be the host yet again in 2025. Meaning it truly is one of the best in the world.

Enjoy the 18 hole, Valley Course at Royal Portrush Golf Club while enjoying your stay at DB Stays. As it was built in 1888, it’s known to be one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland.

A great course for warming up or a little practice before playing the more famous and difficult Dunluce links course!

You’ll also discover The Skerries Golf courses.

The Skerries is perfectly located alongside the Valley course, with beautiful views of Portrush East Strand and one of two 6 hole short courses, to enjoy at your leisure. Perfect, regardless of your level!

The staff and members of the Royal Portrush are renowned for their warm welcome and positive attitude, so why not branch out, try something new or practice your shot!

WATER

Cool oceans, glistening waterfalls and coursing rivers are in abundance along the North Coast, so it only makes sense that you want to enjoy every drop.

SEA SWIMMING

If you’re in need of some T-L-SEA, then you’re in the right place! With a wide array of Blue Flag beaches to choose from, you can swim confidently knowing you’re safe and sound.

We’d highly recommend, West and East Strand, Portrush, Benone Beach and Downhill Beach for breathtaking views and a safe-as-sound swim.

SURFING

Whether you’re an avid surfer or fancy giving it a go for the first time, the North Coast is the spot for you. In Portrush, you can hire wetsuits, body boards, surf boards and even receive individual or group lessons from amazing professionals that have years of wave-experience!

We would highly recommend Troggs or Portrush Surf School if you want some support and guidance.

BOAT TRIPS

If you’d like a closer look at the North Coast’s natural beauty, why not book a boat trip and see things from a different perspective?

There are lots of companies that can offer you wildlife safaris, speedboat trips and scenic sails to make your holiday even more special.

We love Aquaholics who bring visitors on breathtaking trips to see the North Coast’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
